Your desktop is your friend. It also needs a good care and understanding from you. The more you understand it the better performance you get from it.There are several ways to improve your friend's performance; some very important are listed below:
.Try to place your desktop computer in a protected area that is free of excessive dust and has adequate air flow.

.Clean your CPU regularly as the dust particles slows down your CPU and System fan thus creating heat problem and decreasing your system performance.Never use any liquid to clean your CPU instead use a blower and a clean soft paint brush.

.Having only high configuration does not improve your system performance. You should have a proper knowledge to choose what is right for your motherboard.Read the specifications and supports of  your motherboard clearly before you choose any hardware.

.Try to upgrade your RAM(Random Access Memory) and the graphic card if they do not meet your demands.RAM is the temporary memory where the windows you are opening, the tasks you are doing are stored.Use RAM with high value for greater performance.Graphic Card is the accelerator of your display i.e the visual effects.Upgrading a graphic card gives you more clear visual effects thus increasing the performance.

.Now,this one is most important.Always try to update your BIOS of your motherboard to its newest version. To know more about updating your BIOS check your motherboard official website.Believe me updating your  BIOS will surely increase your performance.

.Remember formatting is better than restoring your computer as formatting install a fresh new copy of the OS.When you format your computer or any drives always do the deep format not the quick format as the deep format cleans your broken index and system volume information files.

.Never install the software you won't use.For example if you need photoshop then it is not necessary to install all other adobe software and plug ins.Uncheck the unnecessary add-ons,toolbars,plug ins and secondary software while installing any software.Remember the more the software the greater the load for your system.

.Install a well known and best antivirus program suitable for your configuration.Try the total security version of the antivirus program you use if it has. This will give you both online and offline security efficiently than the other versions.

.Update each and every software along with the hardware drivers to its latest version but try not to use automatic updates other than the antivirus program and the windows update.

.Know what your computer is capable of and always install the software which meets the configuration of your computer. Some software need high configuration but might work in low configuration.Try to avoid such software as such software increases load in your system.

.Try to be more creative and enthusiastic about the software.Because there are software out there that will accelerate your each hardware to its maximum performance which i am sure you have not noticed yet.Your sound card, graphic card, vga card, network adapter and even the chipset for each hardware there are software that will accelerate them in such a way that you will be so proud of yourself.

.There are also several software to clean up your temporary files, registry errors, defrag your registry, speed up your internet etc which will help to increase your system performance.Try using one of them.
